About
Moor Hall, which opened in March 2017, offers exceptional fine dining in a modern restaurant with seating for fifty guests, alongside seven luxurious bedrooms. This stunning Grade II* listed building, rich in history dating back to the 13th century, was first recorded in 1282. The current manor house dates back to 1533.
The three Michelin Star, five AA Rosette, and Green Michelin Star-awarded Moor Hall Restaurant with Rooms is helmed by Chef Patron Mark Birchall. His menus, focused on seasonal and homegrown ingredients, are delicately crafted to reflect the beauty of the surroundings. In February 2025, Moor Hall was awarded a prestigious third Michelin Star, marking a remarkable achievement in the world of fine dining.
Mark Birchall’s impressive culinary background includes his role as Executive Chef at L’Enclume in Cumbria, another three Michelin-starred restaurant, as well as his experience at El Celler de Can Roca in Girona, also a three Michelin-starred restaurant and twice voted the world’s best.
Building on the success of Moor Hall, Mark Birchall opened The Barn at Moor Hall, a relaxed yet contemporary dining experience set within the estate. The Barn, recently awarded its first Michelin Star, offers a diverse menu that caters to all tastes, including 35-day aged rib-eye steaks, a full vegetarian selection, delicious sides, and indulgent desserts. The Barn also features a fantastic array of handcrafted cocktails, draught and bottled beers, whiskies, vodkas, and wines, alongside a children’s menu, ensuring there is something for everyone.
