From Saturday 24 September to Sunday 25 September, visit WWT Martin Mere for Animal Magic as they are joined by local rescues and zoos showcasing some fascinating animals!
From scary scorpions to marvellous meerkats, and interesting insects to beautiful birds of prey, Animal Magic is a great weekend to get closer to wonderful wildlife.
What to expect:
- Join National Exotics – Animal Rescue Service and hold everything from slimy snails to slippery snakes
- Get closer to beautiful birds of prey including the spectacular sea eagle from Cheshire Falconry
- See marvellous meerkats and superb skunks from Holmes Chapel Zoo, and meet all your cuddly needs with a guinea pig petting area
- Attend a birdwatching session for children in the Discovery Hide and see what species you can find
There’ll also be all our usual daily talks and feeds with the addition of their Longhorn cattle, pond dipping in the Pond Zone, Canoe Safari and Boat Tours and their adventure playground!
For those wanting to dive deeper and discover what lies beneath the water, pick up a net and get involved in the pond dipping sessions to find creatures such as the greater water boatman, pond skater, and newt. Additionally, you can enjoy the award-winning canoe safari or guided boat tours to discover more of the reserve by water.
