Sgraffito is a process used to decorate clay during the making stage. It involves scratching back a layer of coloured clay (slip) to create contrasting images and patterns by revealing the clay colour underneath.
During this workshop you will make a plate from white clay and use black slip to create your design. Lots of templates and ideas will be on hand, but feel free to bring images of your own ideas.
No drawing skills needed and suitable for complete beginners.
Please note if you would like to use Eden’s tearoom it must be booked separately as Eden cannot guarantee there will be tables available on the day.
