Reimagine the wonder of wetlands and nature through the eyes of the UK’s best loved illustrator.

Collect an illustrated guide full of Quentin Blake’s drawings and journey around WWT Martin Mere wonderful wetland world this summer. New seasonal trails will be launched later in the year, each with a different illustrated guide to collect and keep.

We’ve got a whole host of art and illustration activities aimed at all ages and abilities, with new events and activities to enjoy throughout the year.

Plus there are lots of Quentin Blake goodies up for grabs including the chance to win a one-off, special edition Quentin Blake print.

From 20 July to 3 September (Summer Holidays)

  • Mere Tun Village: See how wetland materials were and still are used in everyday life
  • Weapons training: Pick up your sword and shield and protect our village with weapons training
  • Foraging: Go foraging for wetland materials
  • Wetland crafts: Get hands-on with activities such as willow weaving and clay modelling and uncover the ancient techniques of medieval lucet cords
  • Award-winning canoe safari: Set sail on our guided boat tour (bookable in advance) or canoes, 11am – 4pm
  • Pond dipping: Pick up your nets for our popular pond dipping sessions, 1:30 – 3pm
  • Craft room: Get creative in our craft room, with free and paid activities, 1 – 4pm

Drawn to Water: Quentin Blake at WWT is a year-long partnership between WWT and Quentin Blake, one of the UK’s best-known and well-loved illustrators, to celebrate the wonders of wetlands.
