Put on your wellies, get out into nature, get muddy and have a splashing time! That’s right, join Martin Mere for their family-friendly Puddle Jumping Championships – guaranteed fun, whatever the weather!
What better way to blow away the winter cobwebs and have a splashing day out together? Come rain or shine, our Puddle Jumping Championships are the perfect activity for the whole family, not just the kids – grown-ups can join in the fun too!
Every day from 2:30pm during February half-term, join in the fun and enter the competition located at the back of Mere Side Cafe. Competitors will be scored for jumping in three puddles – the more creative you are in your jump, the higher the score and daily winners will be announced and receive an exciting surprise.
In addition, visitors can make a mini-raft in the morning and warm up in the craft room between 12 and 3 doing badges, colouring and making a mini wetland. Enjoy a delicious meal or hot drink in the mere side cafe or bring your own picnic to their under cover picnic room, before watching the wild bird feeds at 3pm and 3.30pm.
What to expect:
- Make a mini-raft in the pond pavilion from 11:30am – 1pm.
- Pick up your nets and explore with pond dipping from 1pm – 2:30pm.
- Put your splashing skills to the test with our puddle jumping competition at 2:30pm.
- Make your very own mini wetland in our craft room from 12pm – 3pm.
- Learn how to complete a swan health check as part of our My Great Winter Adventure event.
- See thousands of wild birds at our daily wild bird feeds in the Discovery Hide (3pm) and Raines Observatory (3:30pm).
- Pick up your FREE trail card and discover 15 exclusive LEGO® figures around our centre.
