Event Cancelled

Due to a confirmed case of avian influenza in our collection birds at WWT Martin Mere, North West Bird Watching Festival has been cancelled. The organisers apologise for the disappointment  and their team will be in touch to arrange any refunds. For the most updated information regarding the centre’s closure, please visit their website.

Discover an eek!citing and mysterious world of wetland nature this October half term at WWT Martin Mere Wetland Centre. Keep your eyes peeled and your ears pricked and engage all your senses as you make your way around our wetlands for a truly eek!citing experience.

Put your spookometer to the test with interactive activities. Will you dare to put your hand in a snake box, or be able to identify the screams of animals around Martin Mere? It’s a weirdly wild day out for the whole family.

What to expect:

  • Get creative with spooky arts and crafts and make pom pom pumpkins and springy bats from 1pm – 4pm
  • Identify the screams of animals and dare to put your hand into our mystery boxes to see what’s inside on our interactive trail
  • If you’re brave enough, take part in our Canoe Scarefari for some spine-chilling surprises
  • Put your carving skills to the test with pumpkin carving from 11am – 3pm (24 – 30 October)

Get your costumes at the ready – there will also be a fancy dress competition on Sunday 30 October for the best-dressed visitor. You can also join us for daily talks and feeds, and have a fun-tastic time on our adventure playground.

A fantastic, fun wildlife learning eek!sperience for all the family.
