Massive congratulations to Ormskirk’s Moor Hall after receiving Silver award in VisitEngland’s Awards for Excellence 2022 at the national awards ceremony at the Library of Birmingham.
The Awards of Excellence, which has been running for more than 30, is the highest accolade in English tourism that celebrates quality, innovation and best practice and recognises businesses and individuals who raise the bar of England’s tourism offer.
“From an accessible and inclusive sailing school to a family run rural glamping site and an immersive living museum, these awards highlight the outstanding quality, the innovation and the customer service excellence across our industry. All these businesses are winners in every sense.
“Millions of jobs and local economies depend on tourism and this year’s awards also highlight the dedication of tourism businesses as they rebuild, championing best practice and providing visitors with first-class experiences.”
This accolade is just another for Moor Hall to add to their collection. Most recently Moor Hall was named the UK’s Best Restaurant 2 years consecutively at The Estrella Damm National Restaurant Awards and awarded with a Michelin Green Star for their efforts in sustainability.
Mark Birchall’s neighbourhood restaurant set within the grounds of Moor Hall, The Barn, was also recently awarded it’s 1st Michelin Star and still uses a range of the same fabulous produce, and the same stunning surroundings, making sure to delight.
Congratulations to Mark and all of the team at Moor Hall on this latest achievement – we’re sure it won’t be the last!
Moor Hall Awards & Accolades
Moor Hall is a stunning grade II listed gentry house of mid-sixteenth century origin first recorded in 1282. Peter Stanley of Bickerstaffe built the current manor house in 1533, in over five acres of breath-taking grounds. This included formal gardens and growing land with a beautiful lake, said to be the remains of a medieval moat.
Owners Andy and Tracey Bell have together undertaken a multi-million pound renovation, taking West Lancashire’s Moor Hall back to its historic origin. Partner Mark Birchall takes the lead as chef patron.
