Ormskirk town centre is looking forward to a £3 million conversion of Ormskirk’s former Magistrates Court into a five star aparthotel named Ormskirk Court Hotel.

Set to be opened by Walker & Williams, the company already own a number of boutique aparthotels in Chester and nearby Preston, which receive fabulous reviews across the web.

The husband and wife team bought the site from the government for £480,000 after beating more than 20 developers to win the property, impressing decision makers with the potential it offered. With venues are designed to meet modern preferences and “offer all the comforts and facilities that come with living in a penthouse apartment with the service and convenience of staying in a boutique hotel”.

A total of 23 aparthotel rooms will be created at Ormskirk Court Hotel, with 100 jobs created in the local area too which is great news after the past year. Also very exciting is the hotel’s plans to retain some of the features from the buildings history, with the courtroom becoming the public restaurant and bar area. There’ll be private seating booths inside cells, where the panic buttons will be converted into a way to order drinks, making it a unique venue to experience!

For visitors to the area, the hotel’s location in Ormskirk town centre is perfect. Just a stones throw from the railway station and within walking distance of a selection of wonderful shops, restaurants, pubs and bars. With Ormskirk Court hotel’s Family Rooms include living areas, dining rooms and kitchens, you could even create a few dishes of your own using some fresh produce from the historic Ormskirk Market.

We have no doubt that Ormskirk Court Hotel will be a great option for a perfect getaway in West Lancashire to enjoy a relaxing break, whatever that means for you. We look forward to seeing it progress!
